Scoring highly suggests you are likely to be very liberal, independent minded, self identify as an outsider, shun materialism and popular culture, and have an aversion to organized religion. While high scorers are more intellectual than average, they are probably more artistically astute than intellectually avante guard (i.e. they are more likely to know of new interesting new bands/artists/writers than the best way to extract energy from a hydrogen atom. Low scorers, will generally tend towards the opposite of the above. They will tend to be more materialistic, conservative, corporate friendly, social and are more likely to be religious.

Baseball Fantasies

Posted May 12th, 2007 by rleaf

It seems bladder control might be an issue in the land of Cheeseheads. A new website is enlisting Brewers fans to pledge that they will pee their pants if the Brewers make the playoffs. As of this writing there are 2100 pledged to the task.

Where did such an idea come from? There is an explanation on the website, but I prefer to fantasize another possibility.

Every year some family and friends take a baseball roadtrip in support of the Minnesota Twins. In 2006 we ventured to Milwaukee for some interleague play. We visited Miller Park the evening of Francisco Liriano’s 1st start of the season. Our 10 seats were about 15 rows behind the Twin’s dugout on the third base side. I was positioned right behind a young man with a Capuano jersey. There were a lot of Twin’s fans in our area and some highly vocal ones at that. The game was close. The Twins scored first and the Brewers tied the game at one apiece in the 3rd inning. There was lots of good natured cheering by the Twins fans in our section and then Michael Cuddyer homered. The cheering erupted and the fellow in the Capuano jersey let go with a litany of insults at the vocal fans behind us. When I tapped him on the shoulder and spoke my response into his ear the lady Twins fan beside him smiled, but there appeared to be a look of terror in the young mans eyes and perhaps some wetness to his trousers. Now, this is only speculation on my part but here may be the real inspiration for the pee your pants for the Brewers website. I’m guessing this fellow had enough of the razzing from his game companions since that day and decided to become proactive about his unintended incontinence and go on offense to save face.

The Brewers have a good team this year and they might make the post season. But then again it is a long season. When these two teams met last year the Brewers were just a few games back and were coming off a 4 game win streak, while the Twins were in dire straits at 10 1/2 games behind the Tigers. Nevertheless at the end of the season the Twins had won the AL central and the Brewers finished 8 1/2 games behind the Cardinals.

If this is the guy from the ballgame in Milwaukee last year I’d like to wish him luck. And if the Brewers make it to the playoffs? I’d just like to say “you don’t need to practice, you nailed it last year.”

    Left Turns

    • Joe Anthony started a MySpace page as a Barak Obama supporter. He was able to maintain the page with the Obama team’s blessing and collaboration until recently. The page had amassed over 160,000 friends and Barak Obama’s campaign was no longer comfortable with an outsider having control of the content and wanted Mr. Anthony to reliquish control. Joe felt the friends and good will he fostered deserved significant financial renumeration totaling around $50,000. Barak Balked. MySpace intervened on Obama’s behalf and awarded the home http://www.MySpace.com/barackobama to him and his campaign, while the friends and contact information was allowed to remain with the site originator, Joe Anthony. The Obama campaign started from scratch to rebuild the friend network, amassing nearly 20,000 in just under 3 days.
